The process of handling and packing fruit is carried out under strict quality controls. At the company's laboratory a whole series of parameters are analysed to ensure that only top quality fruit is supplied. Electronic systems maintain the packing area completely isolated from the other areas of the pack-house and ensuring a clean and safe packing environment.
Our company has achieved the much sought-after BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IFS certification which ensures that both the processes and the finished products all comply with requirements that are of primary importance to the end-consumer: product quality, safety and legality.
The packhouse is specifically designed for the packing of plums and citrus varieties in the most “fruit friendly” way possible. The handling of the fruit is of paramount importance to the company, thus ensuring only the very best quality is packed. Before entering the facility, the fruit is hydro cooled to reduce the field / pulp temperature as soon as possible. This is particularly important in mid summer when the temperatures can be in the high 30º C's and even 40ºC.
The facility also has seven large de-greening rooms for the correct preparation of the citrus.
The cold store facility, with it’s 16 tunnels and various holding stores, can accommodate up to 1 370 pallets of fruit. It has the ability to cool table grape cartons to -0,5ºC within 24 hours.
